From Roller Upgrade to Complete Hard Pool Cover Solution
This project began as a straightforward mechanical upgrade for a hard pool cover: replace an underwater pit-mounted roller and install a new controller system. The Daisy team partnered with Aquabright in North Narrabeen, NSW for the job. The pool already had a PVC slat cover in place, so the plan was simple, fix the infrastructure beneath it and reuse the existing cover.
It didn't quite work out that way.
Solving Problems on the First Visit
The installation got off to a good start, even in extremely hot conditions. The first challenge was the existing pit walls, which were significantly out of shape. The team carefully packed out the F003 underwater roller mounts to achieve a perfectly level position. A cable cover was also fitted, completing the roller and controller setup cleanly and safely.

Progress was smooth, until it came time to reinstall the existing slat cover.
When a Cover Has Run Its Course
Once removed and inspected, it was clear the old PVC slat cover had deteriorated beyond reliable use. The customer had hoped to reuse it, understandably, given other renovation costs on the property, but the condition of the slats made replacement unavoidable.
Daisy's recommendation was straightforward: replace the cover properly now, while the upgraded roller infrastructure was already in place. Reinstalling a failing cover over a brand-new system would only defer the problem and risk the new components in the process.
Completing the System on the Return Visit
On the second visit, a new transparent blue polycarbonate slat cover was installed onto the upgraded pit-mounted roller system. The transformation was immediate; smooth operation, a noticeably modern appearance, and the kind of reliable long-term performance the infrastructure upgrade had been designed to support. Final operating limits were set and tested, and the customer walked away with a fully upgraded hard pool cover system.
The Right Advice at the Right Time
Existing infrastructure can usually be adapted, but covers themselves sometimes reach a point where replacement is simply the smarter investment.
At Daisy, that means giving honest advice when it matters, and then delivering a solution built to perform for years to come.
