A Tribute to Lee Schatkowski: 20 Years of Service, Support, and Heart 

After two decades on the road, in the field, and at the heart of Daisy Pool Covers, Lee Schatkowski is hanging up his boots. And while it’s hard to summarise 20 years of service in a few paragraphs, we couldn’t let this moment pass without saying thank you.

Twenty years ago feels like both a lifetime and just yesterday. I still remember sitting in a Qantas meeting room in Brisbane, preparing to interview for our very first full-time Area Manager role in Queensland. In walked Lee — dry Queensland wit, trade background, and a twinkle of sales savvy in his eye. It didn’t take long to realise: this was the guy. 

Lee came to us with no pool cover experience, but you’d never have known it. He hit the ground running and quickly became a force across Queensland — clocking up the kilometres, winning over customers, and building relationships that have stood the test of time. 

Through the good years and the tough ones — especially during the GFC, when Lee stood as our only rep across the east coast — his loyalty never wavered. He kept Daisy moving when the road ahead wasn’t always clear. What’s always stood out is how people talk about him: customers who still speak highly of his help years down the track, trade partners who trusted him implicitly, and teammates who relied on his experience and steady hand. 

He wasn’t just a sales rep. Lee was a trainer, a mentor, a problem solver, and an ambassador. Whether it was a two-person session or a 200-person group, Lee delivered with confidence and care. From installs to inspections, site issues to pool measurements — Lee handled it all with calm professionalism and the kind of good humour that made even the hard days easier. 

But most of all, Lee is a top bloke. Honest. Funny (yes, even the dad jokes). Always willing to lend a hand — no fuss, no ego. He built real trust and real friendships in every corner of the industry. 

Lee, thank you for everything. For your dedication, your loyalty, and your heart. You’ve left a lasting legacy at Daisy, and we are all better for having worked alongside you.

While I’ve only had the privilege of working with Lee for a few years, I’ve seen the impact he’s made — not just in Queensland, but nationally. Lee’s contributions go beyond sales. He onboarded new customers, trained teams, led franchise rollouts, supported installations, and helped solve real-world issues — including flood-related freight disruptions — all with quiet determination. 

What made Lee invaluable wasn’t just what he did — but how he did it. His passion, professionalism, and willingness to support others made him a mentor and a mate. He’s one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to work with.
