Recycling Trial in WA
The new shredding machine is now installed at our Daisy Welshpool facility. This means we are accepting end-of-life pool covers (any brand) to recycle and remanufacture via our partners at 4Recycling.
To date, we have successfully processed a large volume of end-of-life pool covers. We are now ready to open up the program, giving access to councils, as well as our customers in the pool industry including residential pool cover owners.
We will be recycling all solar/bubble LDPE style pool covers that are recycle #4 regardless of manufacturer. All we need is for the covers to be free of organic matter and any cords/attachments. We understand this can be an issue, so we are putting resources in place to manage the receival and processing of old pool covers.
Our aim is to receive pool covers at Daisy for recycling at no charge. We will accept ‘clean’ end-of-life pool covers at the Daisy factory in Welshpool, every Monday to Friday, from 7am-12pm.
The entire processing process is all done in-house in Perth. The end-of-life pool cover material will be recycled and reprocessed into a variety of products, including mining sample bags and builders film (using our film blowing machinery). We can even custom-make recycled bags to accept recycled material, meaning Daisy is helping close the loop for the circular economy of the pool cover industry.
